Disable FindFast

Win XP HE, Office 2002 Student/Teacher
Hi,
Is there a FindFast feature in Office that I can disable?
I am having a hard time burning CD's and my computer manufacturer (Sony)
recommendes disabling that feature.
I am not sure if I have it enabled or not, etc.
Tx for your help.
