Hello.
Does anyone know how to disable the research pane from showing when you alt drag?
So far I have not been able to find out except how to disable it going to remote sites but how do you stop it showing at all??

thanks

I don't have a problem with Alt+Drag. Just be careful to maintain pressure
on the mouse button so that it doesn't register a click.

I have only one user that has a problem...
If he selects the first vertical line of characters in a paragraph with an
alt- drag it then pops up the research pane.....
He learnt it from Visual studio, just selecting what is in the selected area
not whole lines..
Would be good if there is a way to turn off

cheers

All I can say is that I use Alt+drag to column select regularly, and it
never pops up the Research pane.

Here's how to disable that nasty task pane:

From your Office application, press Alt-F11 to open the VB Editor.

Press Ctrl-G to open the Immediate Window.

Type this line and press Enter:

Application.CommandBars("Research").Enabled = False
