disable resource assignment

Environment Details:
We are currently using MS Project 2003 Enterprise. We have also turned on
the protected actuals feature.

Issue:
We have tasks that are assigned to resources who then book time in PWA.
This works fine until you want to "prevent" them from booking any further
time to your plan. Is there a way, without deleting the actual resource
assignment, of disabling a resource from booking to your task? We do not
want to lose the history of what has already been booked to the task, just
prevent future bookings.

Thanks in advance for your help!

MV --

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question, do
the following to prevent team members from booking any further time to a
project:

1. Open the project in question
2. Click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise
3. Set the Booking value to Proposed for each project team member
4. Click OK
5. Click Collaborate - Publish - All Information

The above process will remove the tasks from each team member's timesheet
for the project in question. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help!

In the future I will post to the Project Server newsgroup. I didn't realize
one existed as I found the link from the MS Project homepage.

Thanks again.
