Disable Shift+Delete?

Tony

Hi,

Folks here have discovered how to delete Outlook messages
using Shift+Delete. I have had four requests to restore
mail from backup in the last three days. I set the deleted
item retention to 5 days, which should avoid almost all
restores like this but folks are bypassing it with
Shift+Delete. Anyone know how to disable this?

Thanks

Tony

I think I've got it. KB 246153. That will enable
retention on folders other than the deleted items folder.
At that point it wouldn't matter if they bypassed the
deleted items folder. I would just recover it from the
inbox.

Thanks

Personally, I'd have just told them, "You have no one to blame but yourself.
If you don't want your messages permanently deleted, don't use
Shift-Delete."
