disable the annoying tooltips in PowerPoint

How can I disable the tooltips in PowerPoint? These are the mouse-over popups.

The tooltips are part of windows not powerpoint. They can be disabled but it
will turn them off everywhere.

But how to disable tooltips in Office for Mac?

No one seems to be having this issue in Office for Mac, which is a shame because these tooltips are awfully annoying.

Does anyone know how to turn them off in office for Mac?
I tried going into the terminal to change the system-wide default, but the tooltips in Office appear to be application specific.
