Disable Users that have resigned

Hello

We've just had a resource resign. I have disabled them from AD and I
have marked them as inactive in "Manage Users"

Is that all I need to do or do I still need to mark them as a proposed
resource in every single project schedule that they were a team member
of?

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you

You'll need to reassign this person's remaining work to other resources.

Each project that the person who left was assigned to will now have
work without a resource to do it. I would recommend that the project
managers use the Assign Resources tool to replace the old resource
with a new one. Project will automatically calculate the work
remaining for the new resource, based on the actual work the old
resource did.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Mark and Gary

I guess I did this the long way around. I asked the resource that has
resigned to zero out all his remaining in the last timesheet that he
completed. Now I'm just wondering if I need to mark him off as
proposed in every project or is disabling him in AD and Manage Users
enough?

Another question for you. If you use the Assign Resources tool to
replace a resource on a project does it just allocate him the
remaining work hours left on the project and the old resource still
shows there with their history or does it replace the old resource
completely?

Thanks for your help

Rosa:

By taking the approach you took, the tasks will now show as complete, which
isn't the case. So your best bet at this point is to insert a new task in
your projects, right below the now falsely completed tasks to carry the work
for the new resource.

When you use the replace function from the Assign Resources dialog, the
system closes the assignment for the original resource and re-aassigns only
the remaining work portion of the task to the new resource, preserving the
work history along with the resource history on the project.
