Disabling Add-Ins

I recently deleted ACT! from my laptop, but cannot seem to stop its Add-In in
Outlook. The first time I start Outlook after I boot-up I always get a
message saying:

"The Add-in "ACT! Extensions" (C: etc...) cannot be loaded and has been
disabled by Outlook. Please contact Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no
update is available, please uninstall the Add-in"

Using Trust Centre and Add-ins menu selections in Outlook shows the ACT!
Outlook Addin is inactive, and choosing to Manage COM addins shows that the
ACT! Addin is not ticked, but it will not allow me to delete it saying:

"The connected state of Office Addins registered in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
cannot be changed".

Any thoughts - what am I doing wrong? Or am I doing it all the wrong way?
