Disabling responses to read requests

Outlook 2000 SR1 (9.0.0.4527)

Normally, one can control responses to Read Receipts Requests by:

Tools/Options/E-Mail Options/Tracking Options, then selecting the Neve
Send a Response radio button. However this radio-button is disabled.
Is there another method to prevent read request responses fro
automatically being sent?

Not in Outlook 2000 - Exchange server users will always send a receipt to
internal users - sending to internet users can be disabled on the server.

yes, normally it should be a global setting and there are three special
options for this to deactivate NDR's, receipts and out of office
notifications. But the checkbox for the receipts is definitly not working
(for many users, i read here..).
As said before, there is a hotfix for this bug in Ex2000 (KB324636), but
this is not for Ex2003 and i think they have moved over this old bug to
Ex2003.

Ok,
problem solved. There is an unpublished fix out there for Exchange2003 that
solves this issue.

Diane, you're my Queen, anyway ! :)))
