disappearing cursor

I am working in Office Small Business 2003 and when I hit the Enter key the
cursor disappears from the screen. The "winword/a" did not work for me or I
did not follow the correct path from start--run. Do you have any suggestions?

Perhaps your operating system Mouse settings? See quote below from
"Windows", "Help and Support"

To hide the pointer while you type
Open Mouse in Control Panel.
On the Pointer Options tab, under Visibility, select the Hide pointer
while typing check box.
Notes

To open Mouse, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and
then double-click Mouse.
If you choose to hide the pointer while typing, the pointer disappears
as soon as you start typing. It reappears when you move the mouse.

The cursor stays on the screen until I hit the Enter key then it disappears.
If I hit the Backspace it returns. This happens only in Word 2003.

It reappears if I move the mouse over an area and start typing or if I move
the mouse and start backspacing. I do not loose it in any other program but
Word. I can use wrap around and it goes to the next line without disappearing
but if I hit the Enter key to go to the next line it is gone.

THANKS BOB I FOR YOUR HELP. I SOLVED MY PROBLEM. IT WAS THE INSERT KEY.
APPARENTLY IT HAD BEEN PRESSED. WHEN I HIT IT AGAIN THE CURSOR DID NOT
DISAPPEAR WHEN I WENT TO THE NEXT LINE USING THE ENTER KEY.
