disappearing photos

I have all my photos from my HP digital camera on my computer in my pictures.
I appear to have 'lost' a whole heap from the last year. I have found some
of these in a folder
c:/documentsandsettings/username/applicationdata/commonfiles/hp/memoriesdisc/2.0/rendcache.
The problem is they were never saved onto a disc, and have been resized
(very small and I can't seem to make them bigger without distorting them),
renamed and have lost all detail of the date they were taken.
Can anybody help me please???
I have spent hours trying to fix this problem, and they are all family
photos of my kids so I am desperate to find and fix them

Hi Kerri/Fiona,

The location you located was one used the HP Memories Disc Creator that comes with HP cameras, printers and computers as part of the
HP Photo software. From your description of the size those could be the thumbnail size selection photos and there may be a CD
creation pending in the software, but you may want to use your HP Memories Disc Creator or the HP photo software from
Start=>Programs to see if you can access the actual photos.
