In one of our computer labs we have a number of computers that while the students are working in Word their text will turn into boxes and other characters when they scroll down. Sometimes page breaks will be inserted too. There is no rhyme or reason to this happening. All of the computers have virus protection and were setup new this August. The other computer labs in the building work fine only this one lab has this problem. This disappearence of text and insertion of boxes, characters, and sometimes pagebreaks takes place while saving or scrolling. To make this matter even more strange, we had a student save his file to a USB flash drive and work on it at home. He had the same thing happen to him at home. I thought there might be some sort of macro virus but the anti-virus software isn't detecting anything. I'm stumped. We are going to check out the network and other areas but I don't know very much about Word to know if there is something that can be affecting it.
