disappearing text

Does anybody know why while typing a text in the field the
part of the text disapears and when typed over, disapears
again and again? How to avoid it? For example, create a
field, turn the protection on and type 1164 LT(c). The
little "c" disappears!

Please help.

Try starting a fresh new document - no protection or anything.

Type 1164 LT(c) and press a space bar. What happens?

Within your form fields, when this happens, try pressing Ctrl-Z to undo.

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this

That will happen if Overtype is turned on. Look for OVR on the Status bar.
The Insert key [usually] toggles it on/off.
