Disappearing Toolbars

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Word 2008 toolbars keep disappearing. How do I get them to stay put? Same happens with Excel. VERY annoying.

Which toolbars in particular & what - exactly - do you mean by "disappear"?

Evidently you're able to get them to reappear... How?

Have you checked the oblong button in the upper right corner of the document
window? Are you using the OS X Spaces feature [with which Office 2008 is
notoriously incompatible]?

You need to provide specific details for anyone to be able to offer viable
suggestions or solutions..
