Disappearing Values

When I click on an existing formula, the value in the cell disapears.
When I type in a new value in the same cell, it disappears. What is
going on? Any help would be truly appreciated.

Maybe cell colors - both font and background - are set to the same value?

Try this:

Select the cell>Edit>Clear>Formats
