Disconecting the link between Access and Excel

I have a table in access that is a Linked Access Table, the source is an
Excel file. If I open the Access table and leave it open, then try opening
the source Excel file, I get an error message stating "Cannot Access
"ExcelFiile". Is there code that I can use that will disconnect the link
when the Access table is open?
