Disk not reading on my mac

Processor: Power PC

I have a Power Mac G5 running MAC OS X 10.4.11, I have 51GB Available on my hard drive so I am baffled as to why my disk will not read. I have DVD drive... Can you help!?

Some users are having problems with their drive speed. Check the DVD Player
setting re-set it to the max speed.
