I am trying to add a command button that will display a .pdf file while I am
in Word.

I would also like to be able to use a command button to start a Flash
application.

Go to http://vb.mvps.org/samples/ and download the HyperJmp sample. Import
the code into your project.

The OpenDoc subroutine can be used to open any file in its parent
application. Just call it with the full pathname of the file you want to
open. Windows will automatically work out the appropriate application to
use.
