I am trying to display a date with a certain format: xx/xx
representing month\year. How can I do this in Excel 2000?

Right click on the cell, select format cells, and choose
date. Then pick the one that best fits what you want.

If you want it to copy to multiple cells, right click and
pull down to the last cell you want the format then
select "Fill Formats"

Thanks, Frank, but I need to keep the real dates in there -
the data table is actually used in a presentation. Any
ideas then?

What Frank recommends keeps the real dates in there, just changes how they are
displayed

It does not make any sense, you ask how to display a format as mm/yy and
when you get an
answer showing how to do it you say you can't use it? Use the custom format
only for the cell where
you want this format. Changing format does not change the dates

I understand the dilemma...

My board looks at the data sheet that I use, so it cannot
show up as May-2004 It must show up as 5/3/2004 for their
purposes in the print-out. Does that help?

Copy the data to a different file for the board
