Displaying Current tasks

Michael Longdin

A couple of our Users are having a problem displaying "Current tasks"
in the timesheet view. Everytime they click on it, it just displays
the "All tasks" view. Any reason why this might happen and how I can
prevent it?

Thanks

Have them check the correct box under the View Options
tab in their task view.

Sorry if I'm being stupid here but can you tell me which box they
should tick? Any why would this prevent the current tasks from being
displayed when they they click on it?

Thanks

To display only the current tasks in the View My Tasks page, your resources
should simply click the "Current Tasks" link in the sidepane on the left
side of the screen. In PWA, a current task is a task that has started,
should have started, or will start within an upcoming time period (10 days
by default). Is this what your people are seeing? Could it be that "all
tasks" and "current tasks" show the same thing because all of their tasks
qualify as current tasks. Let me know.

Dale,

Thanks for looking at this. The users are clicking on "current tasks"
but what is happenning is that when the page refreshes, this display
does not come up and instead the "all tasks" display is repeated again
i.e. the little yellow button against "all tasks" is checked.

It just seems that the user is unable to get the page to display the
current tasks option & I have no idea why!

Michael,

Stupid question, but do these users who are having the problem
actually HAVE tasks that are scheduled for the current period? If not,
that would account for them not having anything to show in the Current
Tasks view, and it defaulting to the All Tasks view. If they are
trying to enter actual work, they can do so on the All Tasks view, and
this should then push those tasks (after they're accepted and
republished) onto their Current Tasks view.

It's happenning to 2 users and yes they both have tasks in the current
period. It's not a critical problem but it is very irritating & I'd
like to try and understand why it's occurring. Obviously there is a
lot more "clutter" on the 'all tasks' view and I don't want to go
through these tasks and hide all irrelevant ones.
