Displaying multiple slides per page, along with notes

Can I display three slides, vertically, along with the
accompanying notes for each slide - similar to the
vertical 3 slide display handouts?

Yes and no, depending on your version.

In some versions of PowerPoint you can display slide miniatures in one pane
(sized so that only 3 are visible), and the notes in another. Then simply
use dual monitor mode and project the actual slide. It may not stay in
sync, but you can get an add-in or manually advance the laptop display.
