Displaying total number of unread items

I've created a folder called Vendors, under Vendors I then
create a subfolder for each vendor I deal with. I've
created rules that move incoming messages based on the
vendor's email address to the appropriate subfolder. The
problem I now have is that if I don't have the Vendors
folder expanded, I don't know that I have any unread items
in any of the subfolders (i.e. say I have a subfolder
called Cisco and it's showing that I have 2 unread
messages, then I was hoping that the Vendors folder would
also show that I have 2 unread messages).

Anyone else run into this issue? If you did, were you are
to get it working the way I described above?
