Distorted page display in Print Layout View

Hello

I'm running Word 2003 though I once had this problem in Word XP.

In print layout view, the size and shape of the page is wrong. It looks like an 8 1/2 by, say 9" tall page, instead of the 8 1/2 by 11" page that it ought to be. I tried deleting Normal.dot, but that didn't help.

In the past, I could call up an old letter and it would display correctly. Now, though, that isn't working either.

Everything else seems to work fine. If I go to reading layout view or print preview, things look fine. The printed document looks fine too. It's only in the print layout view that things are displayed incorrectly. Any help?

A corrupt printer driver could cause this problem. Try deleting and
reinstalling the Printer.

This sounds like what happens when you are displaying Document Showing
Markup (Word adds a wide right margin for the balloons) or when you have
white space hidden (Tools | Options | View).

Ray, I was having the same problem today. Open the template normal.dot
Click on view > header and footer. Close the header dialog box. Sav
your document as normal.dot template. Close Word, reopen, and it shoul
be perfect again

You should never save a document as Normal.dot. Since you specify opening
Normal.dot, then it is not necessary to Save As, just Save. Given the lack
of detail in the original question (which you should have quoted), it's hard
to tell whether your answer is any more useful than the two previously given
(three days ago), and it appears that the OP is not going to come back and
tell us which, if any, helped.
