Distributing office templates!

Hello!

What is the best way to distribute Office Templates? We are today using a
script that checks AD-groups to see users belonging and the copies the right
folder to the users computer. Is this the best way to do this or could
offline folders or something I don't know about do that better?

Hi Alfred,

It depends a bit on your company environment, as to whether you're setting this up for portability (i.e. each person/computer being
self contained) or if they're always linked to the mothership through the network.

For example, the Microsoft model for Office 'as it comes out of the box' is for folks to have internet access and to connect them to
http://office.microsoft.com/templates, download a selection when requested, but not save it on the local PC unless the user chooses
to manually do a 'Save As', in which case the locations are along the lines in this article.

If you're using MS Office 2003's Infopath app then this article may also be of interest.
