distribution list

I need to create some distribution lists to be able to use when emailing
certain things. I created a sample dist. list but need to know how to use it
when emailing. How do I use a dist.list once it is created?

Thanks

Simply put the distribution list name in the To, CC or BCC fields when
creating an email

What happens when you try that? Also, are you entering it from an address
book lookup or are you just typing in the distribution list name?

i've tried typing in the dis list in the To line but that doesn't come up.
the address book look up doesn't even show the dist list

Then, perhaps, the contact folder containing that DL isn't enabled as an
address book.

You're creating the dist lists in your Contacts folder, correct? Because if
you are they should appear in the address book which, typically, is created
dynamically from your Contacts folder

Right click on the Contacts folder, choose Properties, go to the Outlook
Address Book tab and check the "Show this folder as an email address book"
box

Ah ha... you need to add the Outlook Address Book service here: Tools menu >
Email accounts > Add address book or directory > Click Next
