distribution list

I have a global contacts list. However, if the contact has no email
addresses it seems impossible to add to a distribution list.

Is there a way around this?

When you say global contacts list, what do you mean?
You can't add someone without an email address defined (or fax number, if
you have fax software installed somewhere) to a distribution list. What
purpose would it serve?
