Division Calculations in MERGEFIELDS

Hi,

Question is...

I got two MERGEFIELDS in word - both will produce numeric
data

MERGEFIELD dp
MERGEFIELD dc

ive inserted them both and inserted them as bookmarks and
called them

dpbk, and dcbk respectively

i want to do a mathematical equation in word which will
output dcbk divided by dpbk

{= dcbk/dpbk } is not working as it says !zero divide

i know my function is right cos when i do {= dcbk/2 } that
comes out fine

............

so my question is - is there any way of dividing one
bookmark by another without word thinking the denominator
is zero...or is there any way around this?

Thanks

Although some ofWord Help suggests you ought to be able to use the bookmark
names directly in {=} and {IF} fields, I usually put the whole field in as
it seems to be a bit more reliable. So have you tried using the MERGEFIELD
fields directly, e.g.

{ ={ MERGEFIELD dp }/{ MERGEFIELD dc } }

or perhaps

{ ={ dpbk }/{ dcbk } }

perhaps also nested inside an IF if there is any possibility that dcbk will
be small enough to produce overflow or division by 0?

Thanks for your reply...but what word doesn't like is
dividing one mergefield (or bookmark) by another in case
the denominator mergefield is 0

Any idea?
