Do addins that disable ribbon allow us to use our old XLB files, etc.?

This is critical for me. I've found several addins to disable the
ribbon that all claim give us back the classic menu. But does that
mean we can use all our old default toolbars, such as Excel....xlb and
Normal.dot, PERSONAL.XLS?

Thanks. :eek:D

Well, three months experience with Office 2007 and I have to say that
the worst thing about it is still how SLOW it is! It reminds me of
the days before I had my own toolbars w-a-y back when ... (and I mean
toolbars, plural). With one excel.xlb, etc., I had one-button access
to everything needed that I used the most frequently.

Sure, thank goodness for the QAT but it's extremely limited - one bar
only and you only have two locations it can be placed. My own
toolbars in Word and Excel, at least, were at least a couple along the
top with usu. another 2 on the left and often one or two on the right,
depending on the app. Minimal loss of real estate compared to the
incredible gains! Man, the speed I have with those. And not only
that but I standardized the toolbar graphics wherever needed so that
the same icons were used whether in WordPerfect, Excel or Word, etc.

Is there anything out there that suppresses the ribbon completely and
gives me access to my toolbar files _properly_ for Word and Excel???
All the add-ins do is provide access to our stuff but in a disjointed
way and not everything is "translated" properly. And it's back to
several mouse-clicks instead of one-button access since you have to
click through to different parts of the existing ribbons and
subsequent toolbars to get to your target ones.

Bad, bad, bad. Shortsighted of M$ (yet again). There should be a way
for power-users to do what they need. The QAT is minimal and has
little flexibility. And although I'm sure someone with programming
skills might be able to do more than what the average user does, the
skills required are much more than the simple skills, incl. simple
icon creation skills, that the old systems had. Not progress to go
back to clicking all over the place to get the job done. I swear, my
speed has decreased overall significantly.

Anyone know of any solution to supressing the ribbon and limited QAT
and getting our toolbars back??

Bad enough all our commandbars don't work in 2007, let's at least get
functionality back through our toolbars.

Thanks.
