Do I need Office?

I just bought a new computer that uses Vista. Do I really need Office any
more? The only thing I miss is FrontPage. Is there a Vista program that I
can build websites with? I have no website building experience, EXCEPT with
FrontPage.

Vista does not contain a web editing program like Frontpage. Vista is an
operating system. It does contain Windows Mail which may meet your needs
without the need for Outlook.

If you need to create and manage documents or spreadsheets, you will want
programs that do that, which are not built into Vista. There are options
other than Word and Excel, but it's really dependent on what you do.

FWIW, FrontPage has been discontinued after 2003 and a new product,
Microsoft Expression Web, is taking its place. It has a very similar user
interface with some significant differences in how it handles
standards-based web sites.

If Frontpage is all you use you can buy that program separately without
purchasing the copmplete Office suite. Also depending on the the type of
license you have for Office you may be able to load it on your new
computer. Is it a retail copy that you bought or did it come preloaded
on your old computer?
