Hi,
(MSP 2003 & MSP Server 2003)
I have a problem:

I need to allow all team member can view completed schedule which they are
team member on Project Center & Project View in PWA. I do it successful.

I set PM can open & save Enterprise Project. But if a PM "X" is a team
member of a project called "ABC", this project is managed by another PM, PM
"X" also see project "ABC", he can open project ABC by MS Project, so he can
edit, modify... on project ABC by MS Project.

If I set PM X didn't see project "ABC", all team member cannot view project
"ABC" on PWA :-(

How can do: allow team member view project schedule they are member, and a
PM can view project schedule is managed by another PM but cannot open,
edit... project schedule which they are not own

Hi Dinh,
I can't quite remember the settings on Project Server 2003, but you'll need
to change the category permissions. The problem at the moment is that PMs
have save access to Project Plans in the My Projects category. You'll need
to change this category to remove the check box that says the user is the
project owner, and use the My Personal Projects category to allow PMs to open
their own projects. The permission model hasn't changed too much since
Project Server 2003 so worth reading this article.

First of all, remove your project managers from the Team Members group.
They don't need to be in that security Group, and that is a partial cause of
your problem. Your project managers only need to be in the Project Managers
group.

Next, you need to open the My Projects category for editing. In the Project
section of the Category, deselect the "Allow users in this category to view
all projects in which they are a team member" option. While you are doing
this, you might as well deselect the "All users in this category to view all
projects assigned to resources that they manage" option as well. Click the
Save Changes button. Assuming you have not changed any other default
permissions, this solution will allow your project managers to see, open,
edit, save, and publish only their own projects. Hope this helps.

Dear Mr. Dale,

Thank you so much, the information is very helpful.

But sometimes a PM is a team member in another project "C", and he also need
to view completed schedule "C" on PWA, but he cannot open that schedule to
modify. Can I do this with your instruction?

Thanks

Then you would need to add a new Category and Group, and add the team member
to that Group to give him/her Read-Only access to Project C. Your security
model is way too confusing, in my opinion. A simpler approach would be to
do what is documented in the following FAQ:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com...edgeBase/Read-OnlyAccessForPMTeamMembers.aspx

After you complete the steps in the FAQ, your PMs will be able to see, open,
edit, save, and publish their own projects, but will only be able to open
Read-Only any project in which they are a team member. Hope this helps.
