"Do Not Publish" function does not work for select tasks

When publishing projects we are having difficulty in not publishing selected
tasks. We are trying to de-select some tasks from publishing using the
"Publish" column and selecting "No". Subtasks will retain the "no" selection,
Summary tasks retain the "Yes" default. In all casses the entire project
publishes.

How do I prevent certain tasks from being published?

We are using all 2007 software.

Thank you

I believe this functionality only impacts whether tasks appear on the team
members assigned to the tasks you do not want to publish. Are you saying
that when you set the Publish field value to No, and republish the project,
the tasks do not disappear from the My Tasks page for the resources assigned
to those tasks? Let us know.

Yes you are correct. Even when marked as "No" do not publish team members
receive both email notification of the tasks as well as see the task in their
"My Tasks" page.

No idea what's wrong on your system. All I can tell you is that it works
correctly on my system. Perhaps someone else has an idea for you...

Dale-

Thank you for trying. While I do not have a solution to the issue I have
obtained the following information. This issue is isolated to a single
project. This project was built on PS, but then saved to a local hard-drive,
then re-loaded to server. It was after the re-load that the issue appears to
have started.

All of our other projects do not share the same issue thus I can only
suggest that the upload caused something to go wrong and to resolve the
schedule must be re-created as a new file - I was hoping to find a way around
that.

Thanks

I think the project in question is probably corrupted. I would recommend
that the PM in question save the project file locally as an .XML file and
then close the project. The Project Server administrator should then delete
the project from the Project Server system. The PM in question should open
the .XML file and save it as an .mpp file. This usually resolves any
internal corruption. From there, he/she should close the file and use the
Import Project Wizard (Tools - Enterprise Options - Import Project to
Enterprise) to import the project back into the Project Server enviornment.
Hope this helps.
