Do you get Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition via AutoUpdate?

Office 2008 was recently repackaged as Microsoft Office for Mac 2008
Business Edition and includes "Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition".
If you have prior versions of the full version of Office for Mac 2008
do the upgrades downloaded via AutoUpdater include the new
functionality? What version (i.e. 12.x.x. etc) is "Entourage 2008 Web
Services Edition".

Thanks
Ian

The Business Edition includes Office 12.2.x and includes an additional
installer for Entourage for EWS if you want to install it. Otherwise,
Entourage is the 12.2.x version and not the 13.0.0 (EWS) version when
you install Office 2008.

If you have installed Entourage for EWS and then later run the Microsoft
AutoUpdate update application, then it will download and install the EWS
update.

For example, I was running Office 2008 with with Entourage for EWS
(13.0.0). When I ran the Microsoft AutoUpdate application, my Entourage
version was updated to 13.0.3.

FYI, 13.0.1 and 13.0.2 are skipped. I've been told that 13.0.2 is part
of the download/trial version of Office. 13.0.1 may appear elsewhere
simply to help manage slightly different versions of Office 2008.
Possibly, 13.0.1 is what ships with Business Edition. (That's just a guess.)

Hope this helps!

Thanks Bill that helps a lot.

Is there a a way to get Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition without
buying a 2008 Business Edition? i.e. if you already have the previous
Office 2008 edition with Exchange integration.

Simply install v13. If you have 12.2.3 installed, download v 13.0.3 and
install. It does require

* Microsoft Exchange Server: Connectivity to Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft
Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (KB952580) or later version.

* Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1
(KB952580) must be applied to both the Mailbox server and the Client Access
server roles.

Download Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition 13.0.3

Thank you so very much for this info. I had been fighting the same
battle and used every set of instructions I could find to get my
corporate Exchange 2007-based email to work with the Entourage 12.2.3
client that I recently installed as part of the Office 2008 for Mac
(not the Home/Student Edition). I could synch my Exchange 2007 based
email w/ my iPhone, I could access it using the OWA client in Safari
under Snow Leopard on my MacBook, and I could access it using the Mail
application but nothing was working in terms of getting Entourage
12.2.3 to work with MS Exchange (which is the last step I needed to
move to using my MacBook as my primary work computer). Thank you!
