Do you need Office 2003 to install Access 2003?

I have Office XP and installed Access 2003. When I try
to open a database, it does nothing. I do not get an
error and the database(s) do not open. I can not even
open the sample databases provided with the installation.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Diana

No - you do not need all of Office 2003.

I'm not sure that I am going to be able to shed any light on your problem
but I wonder if it is similar to one that I've been having. How are you
trying to open the database - ie by clicking on the database file or by
opening A2003 then using the file open dialog? I generally don't have any
problems if I open Access2003 first and then open the mdb from within
Access.

Thanks for your response.
I open Access 2003 and then click on File Open and try to
open databases. I've even reinstalled Access 2003 to see
if was just a corrupt installation.
