Doc does not open

Word 2002 SP-2, double clicking on *.doc or right
clicking and "Open With" opens Word but with an empty
window. <winword /r> re-registration has not resolved the
problem. What should I try next?

Instead of opening the document from within in Word, have you tried going to
the location where it is stored then try opening it? Have you tried moving
it to different location then try opening it such as Windows Explorer?

Functions correctly within Word. It does not function in
Explorer or outside Word. File association is confirmed
and OK. Why does it open word but not place the file in
Word? Thanks for suggestion but nada so far.
