.doc files are not available

Hi,

When I try to open up any .doc file in word it says that
the file is not available. I can open the file in wordpad
so I know the info is there. It is happening to all .doc
files. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Karen,
There is a possibility that the normal template has become
corrupted. Go to 'Start/Find/Files or Folders' and search for
'normal.dot' (without the apostrophes) on the hard drive. Any that you
find rename normal.old. This will enable 'Word' to recreate the normal
template. You will, however, lose any customisation, macros etc. that
you have created pertaining to normal.dot but there is a way of
retrieving them, unfortunately I do not, at the moment, know how to do
that. Good luck.
