.DOC files won't open when double clicked

When I double click on a .DOC file or any other OFFICE file, the program
opens, but not the file. If I go to FILE, OPEN and select the file it will
open. Can anyone tell me what is causing the files not to open when double
clicked?

You might want to try re-creating the file associations for the
application you are having difficulty with. Go to Start/Run and run
the following:

winword /r
excel /regserver
powerpnt /regserver
msaccess /regserver

Note the space before the forward slash.
