Doc used by another user

Hi
When I open a word doc and I assume anything else in office I get a message
saying "this doc is in use by Me do you want to make a copy."
I think I'm logged in as administrator. I just turn the thing on!
This is my own pc not part of a multi user. I just want to turn it on and
open my doc's.
What's happening? I don't get asked who I want to log on as.
