doctype declaration

Hi Matthew,
because there's several different doctypes - each of which will have a
different effect on the way your page displays. It wouldn't be correct for
FP to try and guess which doctype you wanted.

Once you know which doctype you want and why you can follow Kathleens link
to add it to your page template.

Howdy...

I'm glad you guys posted this, as I had similar questions regarding doc type.

I had tried using doc type 4.01 TRANSITIONAL on FP generated pages...then went to W3C validator and tried to validate code and it came it up with many exceptions. So I put my page doc type back to nothing for now until I could read up on all of this.
