Do not know exactly what happen but Office Imaging Writer has been removed
from my printer options. How do I go about reinstalling it to use as a
printer?

Hi Tammy,

If you go to the Microsoft Office 2003 listing
in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel
see if the Image Writer is still listed. If so,
then from that Add/Remove location try a repair/reinstall
to see if that restores the Printer.

I have the same problem, but it is not listed in the add/remove hardware. I
uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003 and it still does not show up in my
printer section. I need this function back, any other ideas to try?

Hi Chris,

It's not Add/Remove hardware in this case :)
It's an optional install feature in Microsoft Office 2003
under Add/Remove Programs.

Try this.
1. Go to Control panel – Printer and fax
2. Add Printer – select local printer attached (Microsoft won't find
one but click thru to locate one manually.)
3. In the port option select Microsoft Document Image printer writer port
4. Select and install a generic manufacturer and use text only printer.
5. Right-click on the generic text/only printer driver and select
properties.
6. Click on ports and select "Microsoft office document imaging driver
port".
7. Click on the advanced tab and change the driver to Microsoft office
document image writer.
8. Click on apply and OK.
