document stops responding, cursor disappears

When working in Word 2000, my cursor will disappear and
the document stops responding. This happens exactly every
5 minutes. If I click IN the document, I can continue
typing, but again in 5 minutes I need to do the same
thing? Is this a virus? HELPPPPPPP.

Have you got Word AutoSave set to every 5 mins? Have you got Norton Anti
Virus?
