Document won't clear

I have a document that pops up everytime I try to open a
new document. The toolbar reads "Document 1" but even if
I name it and save it, the next time I open a document,
there it is again. How do I clear it out of my computer?
I hope someone else has had this happen.

Hi AJ,

When Word starts, it loads a template named 'Normal.dot'. Somewhere along
the way you've saved some text into this template. You can fix this by:

1) Checking under Tools|Options|File Locations and noting where the 'User
Templates' are stored.
2) Choosing File|Open then selecting 'Document templates *.dot' from the
'Files of Type' dropdown and navigating (if necessary) to the folder where
the 'User Templates' are stored.
3) Open 'Normal.dot'.
4) Delete any unwanted text in 'Normal.dot'.
5) Save 'Normal.dot'.
6) Close all open Word files.
