Is there a way to get the named value for the field type.

ie - a long integer is field type 4. Is there a way to go from the field
type to the name?

The code on that page includes 2 functions:
- FieldTypeName() returns a description of the data type of a field
- TableInfo() lists details of the fileds in a table, illustrating how to
use the first one.

Is there a way to use a reverse "object brower" to get the names?

I don't think there's a "reverse object browser."

Easy enough to create a table (or function.)
