Documents locked, no evidence of activation although I have the ke

I have bought and installed a copy of microsoft office, putting the key in
when requested.

However, today, and it could be after 50 uses of word etc, none of the
microsoft office system works. I can't get anything at all when I click help
and activate - it doesn't say activated and it doesn't switch to the wizard.

I've reinstalled the software and that doesn't work either. Any ideas? This
must have happened to someone else.
