Does Access 97 work with Vista home Premium?

I have Office97 and mainly use Access97. I have heard that Access 97 does not
work with Vista - Is this correct or is there some way to make them work
together?
I am a novice and would appreciate full details of any workaround.

It works, but depending on the app you might have to use the "run as
administrator" option and/or the "compatibility mode" for an older version of
Windows.

Thanks for the advice but being a novice I can't understand instruction 2,
which states:
"Run the SR-2b patch with command line switches /c and /t:<full path to
where the extracted files will go>"

Ordinarily I would just double click the self-extracting file so I don't
know how to or where to "Run".
Is it Start>Run? Then where do the switches go?
Or is it at the command prompt?

Sorry, but I the only time I've used commands was in the days of the BBC
Micro!

I believe it's a case of downloading the patch, typing the full path to the
patch executable into the Start | Run dialog (or dragging it there from
Windows Explorer) and adding the switches /c /t <full path> at the end. This
should extract all of the files from the patch to <full path>

I have entered:
"c:\users\...\sr2bdownload\sr2bof97.exe /c /t c:\users\...\sr2bextracted" in
the Start>Run dialog and get the error
"command line option syntax error. Type command /? for help".
I have entered spaces exactly as indicated above but have no clue what could
be wrong as I don't know what the /c and the /t do.

Trying help, gives a brief appearance of a window with a command prompt,
(like the old DOS windows in win95) but the window immediately closes giving
no chance to read the text.

At times like this I get the feeling that I must be an idiot because I can't
even get the run command correct.

What am I doing wrong?

Try opening a command box (by typing cmd in the Start | Run) and repeat
there. That way the box won't close when it's done.
