Does it cost money to send a fax by computer?

Please help

If I use the program for faxing in Windows XP, does it cost money? If it
does, does it show on my cable bill?

You cannot send a fax via cable. You must have a phone connection. If you send
your fax long distance it will show up on your phone bill. If you have a cable
phone connection, the billing will depend on your contract.

If you have a document up in word you can go to "file" and go down to "send"
and it gives a list choices, e-mail, direct fax from computer, or fax from a
fax service. The fax service costs anywhere from $5.00 to $20.00 per month.
They will take it out of your credit card. The program turns your doc into a
fax image attachment and e-mails it out to the service. They in turn fax it
to the number you provided. You get your own fax number so that somebody can
fax to you. You will recieve it by e-mail. It rocks when it works. Mine has a
glitch right now and I'm looking for the answer here.
