Does it work with a loop

Hi

I have created a module that extracts data from word
templates and puts the data into a table. I have used the
API open dialoge box to access the word template from its
directory.The way it works at the moment is that I have to
continuly call the API dialoge box to get the templates
one at a time to extract the data. This is time consuming
and I was wondering if anyone knew how I could extract the
information from the templates automatically without
having to continally call the API dialoge box.

So for example, i have all my templates in the same folder
in the same directory, i want to call my module so that
the API dialoge box opens i then open the first template
and then the module automatically extracts the data from
the templates. I hope this is possible

Jawad,

you could use the other API dialog to select the template folder, and
process the files ffrom that folder in a loop using the Dir function.
There is a fairly good example for Dir in the Help, and a good example
for a loop to process all files from a folder in the MS KB article
158940 (How to Automate Importing All Files in a Specific Folder).

For Office 97, you could also read the Word template folder location
from the registry if there are no subfolders involved (see Word app
property System.PrivateProfileString), for Office 2K there is a Word
app property you can check called Options.DefaultFilePath.
