Does OLE DB Provider layer on ODBC ?

I found error from ODBC when I open connection because connection string is
incorrect. I just wonder that my code does not use any ODBC but error
message is from ODBC rather than from OLE DB.

Probably because you use the OLEDB driver for ODBC.

Try to use providers for OLEBD for Jet-Access or OLEDB for SQL-Server
