Does Powerpoint have a limit on video file size

In Powerpoint 2003, is there a limit to how big a video file can be (.avi,
..mpg, etc.) before PPT stops playing it smoothly? What are the factors
involved in getting good result from playing inserted videos. I see choppy
video sometimes on large files ... is that a direct function of the RAM
installed on the computer? Does PPT have limitations?

The biggest factor I have found is keeping your hard drive cleaned of tmp
files and defragmented.
