dollars to text

I need to know if excel can convert a dollar figure
($5.00) in a cell to text (five dollars). Does excel have
this capability? I am tring to print checks using the
mail merge function of Word with and excel worksheet as
the data source.

Download MOREFUNC add on package (if you don't already have it), install it
and use NBTEXT.

You may have to add "dollars" on yourself, not sure if this will add that in
based on how the cell is formatted.
