Hello,
I am trying desperitly to finish my darn tax info and in trying to sort my spread sheet by date, it suddenly keeps popping up with: this operation requires the merged cells to be sized identically. Well that seems ridiculous to me but I do go thru and size them each the same, of course that's obviously not what that error really means but darn if I can find out what it does mean or what I'm suddenly doing wrong! I'm getting frustrated with how apps work differently, sometimes less user friendly, than when I used them on PC. any suggestions?

This error message means that on at least one row of the column you're
trying to sort, a cell is merged with one or many of its neighbors. Merging
cells is done in the Format / Cells menu, Alignment tab, checkbox Merge
cells (or with the equivalent Formatting palette or Formatting toolbar
button). It creates one big cell out of many and it cannot be used for
sorting.
