Don't Update Table from query filled form

I used a query to fill the records in my form with a subset from the
underlying table. The user will modify some of the fields (memo) in the form
and then wants a report printed. I filled a secondary table with the records
used to populate the form and would like to update that table for the report
without any changes being made to the original table. How can I accomplish
that?
